Giving Back

At Vertical Advantage, it is important to us not only to work hard and have fun, but also that we give a little bit back to the community and to causes that are close to our hearts.
It is all very well just going for one of the larger charities and leaving it at that but we wanted to do a little bit more so, through group consensus, we have chosen more than one charity.
We have chosen Cancer Research as the National Charity to support.  This is a charity that means so much to so many as I don’t think there is a person out there who does not know someone or has been affected by Cancer. Research has come so far in the last 10 years offering people not only an extension to a precious life but also the potential of a cure. Just think what could be achieved in the next 10 years with the right investment. Every little helps and Vertical Advantage want to be a part of that.
In addition, we are supporting local charities on rotation. These charities are close to the hearts of the team in different ways, with team members supporting them in their own time anyway. Giving back to the smaller, local charities is just as important and somehow more personal.
Our choices for the local charities include Time to Talk Befriending (a Brighton based charity giving support and comfort to the lonely older generation who deserve so much more), Rainbows Children’s Hospice (a Leicestershire based hospice that covers the larger East Midlands Area and offers support and care not only to the children but also to their families), Battersea Dogs Home (this speaks for itself…a nation of animal lovers but unfortunately there are one or two people out there who do not have the compassion or responsibility to look after these wonderful creatures and Battersea will rehabilitate and ensure the dogs go to homes that really care), and Demelza Children’s Hospice (Demelza provides the best care and support for seriously ill babies, children and young people and their families across East Sussex, Kent and South East London.
This list is not exhaustive. There are always new local causes that come to our attention and if we can give them just a little bit of support we will.
At Vertical Advantage we donate in various ways. From sponsored events, through to cake bakes and giving up our time to help. Every member of staff at Vertical Advantage are given paid leave each year to spend time with a charity and offer help in whatever way the charity needs.
We will keep you updated through the year on what we get up to and (hopefully) how much we have been able to raise.
