About the Business
A well-known business in the industry who supply to some of the most prestigious customers in the UK. They are known for their varied and highly desirable portfolio. Due to a restructure, they are on the lookout for an experienced wine buyer to join the team.
Your New Role
You’ll be in charge of maintaining and building on their already strong supplier list, as well as being involved with strategic commercial projects.
The beauty of the role is that you’ll be able to work directly with producers and buy well-known wines in key regions.
Building your own purchasing plans for the business and implementing them with the sales team.
About You
So, ideally you will have experience of buying wines, particularly directly from producers / suppliers. You’ll need to be commercially competent and Excel spreadsheets will not be a chore. Negotiation skills are also strong but ultimately, you need to be willing to learn from an experienced Head Buyer.
- 2 years’ experience of wine buying from a producer / supplier.
- Strong negotiation skills and good commercial acumen.
- Language skills advantageous (French or Italian preferred).
- People skills are essential to maintain relationships.
- Strong IT skills including MS Excel is essential, with ERP system desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and drive to succeed.
