My client is a leading FMCG powerhouse looking for a Senior category professional to drive strategic category initiatives whilst leading their most important customer. In this role you would be responsible for delivering UK strategic and financial objectives and budget.
The Senior Category Strategy Manager will be unlocking category and commercial growth opportunities for their most strategic retailers’ categories through the translation of market data into actionable insight and by developing unbiased category and range recommendations in line with retailers own strategies. You will develop and deliver effective customer and category centric rationales to grow the business working with the Marketing, Commercial and Innovation teams.
The Senior Category Strategy Manager will be reporting to the Head of Category & Commercial Development and handling internal relationships within the commercial, marketing and senior management team as well as relationships with customers/ retailers, suppliers and agencies.
The objectives will be to be known by retailers as the category knowledge leaders, based on the quality of insights, championing the Category strategy and driving shopper and consumer thinking to work collaboratively with retailers to drive Category growth. Internally you will be providing insight to drive the future direction of the business. You will be an expert in market data analysis and data insights to support brands targets and commercial targets. You will be embedding Category Strategy to identify brand and customer growth initiatives and to apply the shopper and consumer thinking into our listing and defence recommendations.
Responsibilities will include owning insight, category strategy and supporting budget delivery. You will contribute to the delivery of financial and strategic objectives within the Business Planning. You will communicate with clarity and drive and deliver what is important.
As an experienced Category professional, the successful candidate will be able to think long term and have their finger on the pulse of what is drving the overall category / grocery sector.
