My client is a multi-channel shopper activation business, who covert shoppers into buyers and buyers into loyal shoppers.

They transform data into insights, and insights into action through a seamless customer experience which drives results for their retail customers and CPG partners.

They require an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager, responsible for leading and overseeing all short-medium term new business activity and support the UK leadership team in concerting longer term strategic new business opportunities.

Your role will include building relationships with prospects and potential customers, attending networking events, following up on inbound leads, and generating new leads through outbound activity (n.b. cold calling is not a requirement for this role). You will work closely with the Solutions team to formulate compelling decks and proposals and lead all prospective client pitches and presentations.

You will be preparing and executing new business annual plans and quarterly business reviews in line with commercial management processes and policies, as well as generating new business leads for a new eCommerce solution but not limited to information / intelligence gathering, inbound enquiries, outbound activities, networking, and engaging prospective clients.

Alongside this, you will be leveraging existing networks and proactively build new contact strategies with qualified decision makers to drive relationships and new opportunities growth forward.

Researching and monitoring industry trends and connecting problems that can be solved for prospective clients is a key part of this role, alongside creating exceptional proposals and documentation, ensuring strategies are presented accurately and sufficiently, and making sure it is simple for customers to understand.

Achieving new business targets, and ensuring accurate pipeline management in Salesforce and reporting performance and forecast accuracy, sharing reports with the UK/EU leadership team will be parts of the financial management side of the role.

In terms of Customer Delivery,, you will be responsible for cultivating a ‘customer first’ approach and take new prospects from initial contact through to proposal delivery, leading customer relationships and managing the internal team to deliver an exceptional client experience.

You will be managing early-stage customer relationships, acquiring and seeking briefs and managing the appropriate team to deliver best in class work.

£40-50k basic dependent on experience, with the chance to earn an additional 30k on top of the basic salary.

Your skills, experience, qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a CPG/Retail sales environment.
  • 2+ years new business experience.
  • Proven track record of converting new business opportunities.
  • Proven record of meeting/exceeding established goals
  • Demonstrates market and industry knowledge and recognises changing market trends.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to build business cases and value propositions to justify partnerships.
  • Ability to generate content to present new ideas, concepts, and strategies.
