Operations Manager

Vertical Advantage are pleased to be partnering with a SME bakery business in London on a search for an Operations Manager to joint their team. This is a newly created role due to growth and intended to be the number 2 to the MD of the business. As the Operations Manager you’ll have full remit to oversee the production operation as well as working closely with the senior stakeholders in the business.

The Operations Manager is a key hire in the businesses leadership team and responsible for driving efficiencies and improvements in the manufacturing environment. You’ll be the championing a culture that encourages health & safety, food safety and systems improvements. 

Key responsibilities will include;

– Ownership for the bakery production processes including quality and safety & hygiene 
– Promoting and enforcing a safe working environment 
– Developing and improving existing procedures and policies in line with the business 
– Supplier management to ensure stock availability and trace-ability 
– Working with other department head in the business sales and operations monthly meeting

The ideal candidate will have the following;

– Knowledge of working in a bakery environment and a passion for food
– Proven experience in an Operational/manufacturing role 
– Strong leadership and coaching experience
– Proven IT skills, including proficient in Excel 
– Strong communicator at all levels and ability to influence stakeholders
