They are seeking someone passionate about the industry to help continue to grow the business as it has the potential to see high double-digit growth. The business are hugely passionate about quality and innovation, with the expectation of launching new lines into the UK market in the near future. Job Purpose:
As the National Account Manager for your defined portfolio of grocery/convenience accounts which will consist of Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, and you will be directly responsible for developing and delivering the annual sales plan, with overall P&L ownership for your accounts. You will set in place joint business plans with each national account that align with channel and sales strategy to develop and grow existing and new business opportunities across your portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of annual business plans
  • Develop and deliver account specific promotional plans
  • Influence and manage trading relationships
  • Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams
  • Manage the annual NPD customer presentations and range review process
  • Negotiate and manage trading terms
  • Identify and drive new business opportunity to enhance market share
  • Monitor and review national account sales performance
  • Manage/control account and portfolio investment
  • Direct responsibility for account forecasting
  • Implement account investment plans

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Demonstrate National Account management experience within an FMCG company
  • Top 4 grocery and chilled food experience preferred
  • Experience managing a P&L
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • Cross-functional exposure
  • Strong negotiation/influencing skills
  • Ability to trade in a seasonal business
  • MS Excel/PowerPoint competency
  • Success achieving sales profitability and budget goals
  • Ability to form and develop relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong idea generation and problem-solving skills
  • Ambition to promote and mentality to seek higher responsibility within the business
