Position: Import/Export Executive – Supply Chain

Location: Redhill (Hybrid)

Salary: £25,000 to £32,000

 

Vertical Advantage has partnered with a leading FMCG business who are looking to hire an Import/Export Executive to join their Supply Chain team.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic organisation with ambitious growth plans.

 

The role is based in Redhill, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement (some days from home, depending on business needs).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with UK and Irish warehouses to ensure smooth import and export operations.
  • Liaise with veterinary authorities to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Prepare customer export documentation for shipments to the EU.
  • Complete import documentation for goods arriving from the EU.
  • Ensure documentation compliance through regular audits.
  • Resolve customs clearance issues in a timely manner.
  • Track shipments and communicate any supply issues.
  • Lead weekly performance reviews with the Irish warehouse.
  • Organize import/export of product samples to support business needs.
  • Ensure documentation and freight costs align with agreed rates.
  • Pre-notify all imports via IPAFFS.
  • Complete import documentation using CDS (Customer Declaration Service) and coordinate with transport for border crossings.
  • Maintain accurate records on trackers and systems to ensure audit compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with transport and supply teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure all new product developments (NPDs) are correctly set up in systems for import/export.
  • Lead the NPD review meetings.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong data accuracy, numeracy skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent prioritisation and planning abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-focused.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of import/export controls, regulations, and documentation requirements (including declarations, health certificates, veterinary requirements, and related documents).
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is advantageous.
