My client offers bespoke fulfilment services to a range of customers, supporting their clients goods in, warehousing and customers delivery so that our customers can focus on what’s important to them. They provide access to perfectly tailored fulfilment services by giving them access to their network of third-party logistics providers (3pls) allowing them to manage services for their customers rather than worrying about capacity utilization.
The purpose of this role is help find and secure new customers whilst ensuring that the risks and opportunities with existing customers are managed. It is a split between accruing new business and nurturing the existing business relationships.
They have 2 key metrics for the sales team which is order volume and profitability per order for each client.
They are looking for a good balance of new customers from “start-ups” with a minimum 50 orders per week to existing customers with 5000 or more orders per week.
The Sales Manager will be able to convert leads from our marketing team but also develop a network of contacts and relationships that they can bring to the company.
Whilst the Customer Success Team will work with the existing clients on a day to day basis the Sales Manager will be allocated a proportion of existing key accounts to ensure that we balance our major risks and opportunities.
The Role:
This role will have an emphasis on the conversion of leads from marketing into a pipeline of long and short term customers. You will be responsible for the development of your own network of contacts who are then converted to customers. You will manage the development of a strong working relationship with the marketing team to ensure that the sources of new leads and marketing activity is focused on the activity that generates the best returns.
Alongside this, you will work across Social media channels to support our brand and generate leads. You will be looking for new opportunities within adjacent services as they are identified with our clients so that our clients can focus on their marketing and sales rather than operations.
You will be expected to develop a professional reputation that raises business profile. You must understand the pricing and service levels of our competitors to identify opportunities.
Another element to the role will involve working with the Customer Success Team to make sure clients and customers are valued, and working with the marketing team and other sales managers to identify and close opportunities
You will also work with the Logistics team to identify new opportunities and categories of business across new sectors of business.
The role will involve weekly/ monthly reporting, building a culture around the clients and delivering a high level of customer service. New Client acquisition is measured by orders and average profit per orders. You will oversee relationships with existing key & Major to identify opportunities and risks. The leadtime is measured from first contact to first shipment of goods by new customers.

The ideal candidate must come from a sales and/or account management background and have a track record of generating revenue. You must be able to pitch and present, whilst also having a strong understanding of customer needs. You will need to know how to engage and build relationships, and nurture current relationships to build their strong customer community.
