My client is a leading FMCG working in the food and drink industry and work with high quality brands to supply a number of the major retailers in the UK.

In this role you will be providing actionable insights to unlock category growth and to maximise range and distribution opportunities.

will be responsible for presenting top quality actionable category insight and recommendations to help facilitate growth within their leading retail accounts.

The Category Development Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Brand teams to develop strong insight-led NPD propositions and category, shopper & consumer centric trade presentations.

In this role, you will develop the strategic promotional guidelines and provide the support to enable their commercial teams to implement these with the trade.

You will need to able to provide supporting rationales to maximise their range and distribution opportunities.

Objectives of the role will be to become recognised as a Category expert, owning insight, category strategy and supporting budget delivery, contributing to the delivery of financial and strategic objectives (volume, net sales & contribution) within the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.

Developing listing and defence rationales for all ranges, across all subcategories for their customers, working in conjunction with the commercial and marketing teams.

You will also be supporting NPD initiatives based on category and customer centric thinking, representing both the commercial team and customer perspective on NPD projects.
