Quality Manager
My client, a market leader in their space, is looking for a Quality Manager to join their leading food manufacturing company. Your role as Quality Manager will involve being accountable for the day to day technical management of customers for own label and branded products. You will be supporting the Technical Account Manager in ensuring customers’ needs and expectations are met.
The role:
- Manage customers’ technical requirements: updates & changes are tracked, interpreted, summarised
- Build strong and proactive relationships with customers meeting expectations, requirements, requests, tasks by the deadlines set
- Manage customers’ technical websites ensuring they are up-to-date at all times
- Complete technical customers’ specifications, with all the relevant attachments required, ensuring they are up-to-date at all times.
- Complete & send all documents / reports required by customers
- Organise customers’ audits & visits as per plan, attend and close the reports on time
- Prepare and attend any customers’ meetings, follow up on the agreed actions until closed off
- Manage customers’ complaints until full resolution
- Monitor the quality of the products ensuring they meet the specifications and QAS at all times
- Work with internal processes (documentation, samples, certificates, release of stock etc…)
- Complete organoleptic assessments on a variety of chilled products
- Work with Business Units ensuring technical topics are embedded on daily basis
- Check artworks and assets, to ensure they are legal in the UK and in line with specifications
- Participate in business cross-functional projects (product launch, CSR, continuous improvement)
- Build strong & proactive relationships with colleagues, factories & divisions, depots
- Take initiatives and propose new ways of working to be simpler more efficient and quicker
About you
- Food science degree or equivalent
- Knowledge working in Food safety (HACCP, BRC or FSSC 22000)
- Experience with UK retailers and providing excellent customer service
- Strong attention to detail ; Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
- Strong levels of analytical & curiosity & ability to cross-check information
- Good at planning and organizing workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative
- Proficiency using key software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Ability to travel in the UK & EU when required
- Clean driving license (1 year +)
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with food labelling legislation
- Fluent in French or Italian

Based in Surrey
With a salary of £35,000-£38,000
